Good morning ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome to Kunjono Room of Central Administration Building of Sanata Dharma University Jogjakarta.

On this special ocassion, JETA : the Jogja Englishs Teacher Association, in collaboration with English Languge Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta Provincial Office of Education Youth and Sport proudly present : The 9th JETA Conference 2012 with the theme “ REVITALIZING ENGLISH TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ”.

ladies and gentlemen,

Jogja English Teacher Association IS An independent orgnization, one medium to empower English teachers to be more competent and professional, creative and innovative also  have good personality and ability in organization.

JETA IS a medium for communication and information among the English teachers from any level of institutions in Yogyakarta,a place for teachers  to share ideas and knowledge, solve problems, discuss the newest issues, which are all  related to teaching learning matter so that a better quality of English Instructional Program will be on hand.

Every year JETA in colaboration with a prestigous university in Jogjakarta such as Sanata Dharma University, State University Jogjakarta, Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University and Ahmad Dahlan University have conducted annual conferences.

This year, JETA conference 2012 in Sanata Dharma University chose a theme “ REVITALIZING ENGLISH TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ”. This theme was chosen because we considered that to revitalize the professional development of English teachers, lecrurers, and pratitioners in order to explore and discuss, among others, issues of evaluation, reflecting teaching, classroom action research, teacher’s profesional competence and teaching materials development are very important.

This conference also provides opportunities for participant to demonstrate teachIng model and real experiences through workshop.

Ladies and gentlemen,

This JETA conference will be one of the most spectacular conferences ever. Because, In a very minutes, we will show you a fabulous performance that will be presented by JETA english teachers “ Opera Van JETA “ entitle Roro Jonggrang.

From this performance we want to deliver our message to all teachers. We must become professional english teacher but we must remember and hold our own indonesian culture.
